' Positive Atheism is an independent journal published monthly by Cliff Walker, with the help of private donations. Cliff Walker is a lifelong social activist and has worked exclusively on issues pertaining atheist dignity and atheist rights since September, 1988, when he served 24 days in jail for having refused a court order to undergo religious instruction in a sequestered faith-based rehabilitation program. Dedicated to the discussion of atheistic philosophy, ethics, and history, Positive Atheism, as she currently exists, was established on October 4, 1998, but the magazine dates back to August, 1995, with the web site following shortly thereafter. Upon her independence in November, 1998, Positive Atheism quickly began to emphasize a struggle against antiatheist bigotry, currently seeking to discover ways in which atheists might behave that would serve to reduce or eliminate both the instances and the effects of this bigotry.
