'The Harry Singer Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 private operating foundation (IRC: 4942 j 3) located in Carmel, California. Our purpose is to promote responsibility and involve people more fully in public policy and their communities. It was founded in 1987. It actively conducts programs, and is not a grant-making foundation. Since society is made up of individuals, the Harry Singer Foundation mission is to prepare these individuals for a future where there will be less government and a weaker safety net. Such a future will require greater individual character, responsibility and knowledge. There will be a need for responsible people able to care for themselves and their less fortunate neighbors. The founders believe that informed people will choose to develop their own abilities and help their neighbors.
