About Galaxy Galaxy endeavors to stimulate supplement promote and strengthen arts education by working in partnership with schools artists community groups and education institutions The program is dedicated to helping schools assume leadership responsibility for including comprehensive quality arts education programs in the school curriculum and in fostering community understanding and support of the arts Galaxy coordinates projects and activities designed to educate administrators teachers and parents about the vital role of the arts and provides high quality experiences for students in Dance Drama Theatre Music Visual Arts and the Literary Arts Through an annual planning and rigorous artist selection process Galaxy creates a menu of resources designed to enhance learning in the artistic disciplines as well as in other subject areas across the curriculum In addition to working with schools Galaxy has over the years engaged in a number of community outreach projects in cooperation with universities area libraries
