'Charlotte Laws is a member of the Greater Valley Glen Council, a syndicated columnist, and the President of a nonprofit organization. In March 2004, Charlotte Laws was elected to be a representative in Valley Glen, California. She is the founder and president of the League for Earth & Animal Protection ( LEAP ) - http://www.LEAPnonprofit.org In January 2005, she was appointed to be the Director of Animal Welfare for Valley Glen. She also started the Southern California DAW program and wrote "no kill animal shelter" proposals for the cities of Los Angeles and Oakland. She is encouraging Governor Schwarzenegger to start a statewide Animal Commission so that all localities within the state can work towards ending the killing of dog and cats. Charlotte sits on the Advisory Board for the Center on Animal Liberation Affairs ( CALA ) and was recently appointed to serve on the No-Kill Council, chairing '-Charlotte's Web Blog
