Like any good thing, the great reputation of Ann Arbor's Builders Carpet Outlet has spread like wildfire, to the point of expansion beyond anything the company's owners originally expected. In June of 1996, they formed Builders Carpet Outlet. All with construction backgrounds, the concept of supplying builders, landlords and Realtors® with flooring and cabinets sounded great. By October, BCO had opened its doors to the public and was planning their move to the former Federal Express building, increasing to 24,000 square feet of wide-open space. Now, as one owner states, We could easily fill 10,000 to 15,000 more square feet. The retail demand from the general public surprised the owners more than their orders from builders and management companies.
